1962 Rochdale GT at the village fete, Glinton - June 2024
This very rare Rochdale GT sports car from 1962 was on display at the annual Glintonfest village fete in Glinton in June 2024. A total of 1,350 GT cars were manufactured by Rochdale Motor Panels and Engineering of Rochdale, Greater Manchester, between 1957 and 1966. Of these, only around 80 were believed to survive as of 2024.
The GT was supplied in the form of a bodyshell with doors, windows and bonnet ready fitted. Most of these were initially fitted to Ford chassis (it was originally designed for the Ford Popular) although the company supplied a version of this model with its own in-house chassis from 1960.
