Chatterley Whitfield Colliery - endless rope haulage
Chatterley Whitfield Colliery - endless rope haulage
This long abandoned electrically operated haulage was in one of the very few buildings our guided tour was allowed into. I had never seen this before and was impressed. As far as I can gather the continuously moving rope passed down the Middle Pit that was closed in 1968 so its survival is amazing. I would welcome any further information on this piece of kit.
