A big sign
At the entrance to the Yew Avenue is this descriptive sign, telling something of the history of the avenue and the current management by a trust made of local people, The Clipsham Yew Tree Avenue Trust (CYTAT). This includes, inevitably these days, a link to a web site: Link

Clipsham Yew Avenue
Unique Yew Tree Avenue of around 150 clipped Yew trees, estimated to be over 200 years old, that formed part of the carriage drive to Clipsham Hall. The trees are clipped into a variety of shapes and symbols including AA for Amos Alexander, the first estate Head Forester who began clipping the Yews in 1870 and FC for Frank Cornell who began restoration of the avenue in 1955. The avenue is owned by Sir David Davenport-Handley and maintained by The Forestry Commission Link
