Llandudno Lifeboat and tractor
Llandudno Lifeboat and tractor
37ft Oakley lifeboat, The Lilly Wainwright, in service at Llandudno from 1964-1990. The boat was on display on the promenade, with a suitable lifeboat shaped donation box alongside. To the left is the dedicated tractor, used to launch the boat. The lifeboat station at this time was situated about halfway between the east and west shores at Llandudno, and the tractor would pull the boat to whichever side it was needed.

The photograph was probably taken in 1964 or 1965 by the contributors father, Geoffrey William Sutcliffe (1907-2004).

Scanned from an ILFOCOLOR colour negative.
