The 'rural revivalist' Rolf Gardiner ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolf_Gardiner ) is recorded as having bought the Springhead estate at Fontwell Magna in 1933.
His son, the orchestral conductor Sir John Eliot Gardiner ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Eliot_Gardiner ), is reported as born in Fontwell Magna in 1943.
Would therefore one be justified, based on the above information, in assuming this lovely garden might have been JEG's boyhood playground?
