TL2371 : Removal of the A14 Huntingdon flyover - Photo 3
taken 6 years ago, near to Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, England

For another view of the flyover see Link
This flyover or viaduct was built in the 1970s to carry a section of the A14 trunk road over Huntingdon. It was demolished between 2020 and 2022 after a new A14 road was built west and south of Huntingdon. Removing a viaduct is generally a straightforward process with the area beneath being cleared and then the central supports removed, allowing the structure to collapse. This flyover, however, crossed Network Rails East Coast Main Line, as well as the B1514 two crucial veins running across Cambridgeshire making it a very complex demolition job. For a photo before the demolition started see Link
