Victorian pillar box
Victorian pillar box
A Victorian Penfold style pillar box, though I believe this one is a replica as it is not listed. It stands on the junction of Chartwell Road and Cutwell in Tetbury. It appears to have been painted since it was photographed in 2007, notice the Royal Coat of Arms ST8893 : West end of Tetbury.
Penfold Pillar Box

Penfold Pillar Boxes are named after the designer JW Penfold. They are made from cast-iron, and are a hexagonal shaped letter box made from 1866 to 1879. They were manufactured by Cochrane Grove Company of Dudley.
