Blue Plaque, Bangor
A recently erected blue plaque on the front of Wolsey's public bar in Bangor J5081 : 'Wolseys' bar and restaurant, Bangor [2] by the Alternative Ulster Historical Society.
In the late 1970's the bar was known as The Trident and was popular with the emerging punk music scene in Northern Ireland. It was immortalised in the lyrics of Stiff Little Fingers anthem 'Alternative Ulster':
"There's nothin' for us in Belfast
The Pound's old, and that's a pity
OK, so there's the Trident in Bangor
And then you walk back to the city."
The unveiling made the local news at Link
