Ffestiniog Round Robin
Arriva Trains and the Ffestiniog Railway offer a 'Round Robin' ticket, a circular route taking in the Cambrian Line from Aberystwyth to Shrewsbury, thence to Llandudno and onto Blaenau, a one-way trip on the Ffestiniog and back on Arriva from Porthmadog to Aberystwyth.
On a senior railcard the current fare is �23.75, not bad value compared to a normal 'walk-on' fare of about �57.
The route shown above is the one I took but it is possible to join and depart anywhere on the circular route.
I attach the photos that I took on my journey. I have done the 'circle' a few times before but to do it again this year had to travel before the end of October as the Ffestiniog Railway is not running through trains to Bleanau in November.
