Stonehenge - neolithic village
Three prehistoric hut dwellings recreated outside the new visitor centre. Inside one of them was an English Heritage volunteer who invited us to sit and listen to her talk about life in neolithic Britain.
Changes at Stonehenge

The Stonehenge World Heritage Site is operated by English Heritage. They invested 27 million in a new visitor centre at Airman's Cross about 2km from the stone circle, which opened in December 2013. It has large coach and car parks, and visitors are required to walk or take a free shuttle bus from there to see the stones themselves.

The old visitor centre close to the stones was then demolished, and the road that passed close to the stones was removed and turned back to grassland.
