Llandudno Pier landwards extension
The present pier, built for the Llandudno Pier Company by Walter Macfarlane of Glasgow using iron castings from the Glasgow Elmbank foundry, was opened to the public on 1st August 1877. The landwards extension around the side of the Grand Hotel SH7882 : The Grand Hotel built to the same design, also supported on iron columns and still in deep water, was opened in 1884. Along its side are various shops and amusement arcades.
