The "Cannon" on Tryfan

A famous landmark on the ascent of Tryfan from the north, with Llyn Idwal far below. This photograph shows a group on a C.H.A. "Mountain Leadership" course in August 1965. The man in the blue sweater was the group leader.

Two walkers (one with orange rucksack) are beginning the scramble up the gully which eventually leads to the summit plateau. There is also a small figure almost on the summit if you have good eyesight!
