As usual I am uncertain of the exact species; possibly Northern Marsh Orchid (Dactylorgiza purpurella). There were hundreds, if not thousands, of them on the cliff top.

The old red sandstone cliffs of the northern tip of the British mainland are a dramatic sight as viewed from next to ND2076 : Dunnethead Lighthouse. The mistiness is caused by spray thrown up by the sea crashing into the base of the cliffs.
