What is the Davis Arts Council Online Experience Auction?

• It’s an online fundraising auction featuring a collection of unique experiences donated to benefit Davis Arts Council. Bidders have the opportunity to win experiences while supporting the arts in our community.

When does the auction open?

• The auction opens at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, September 7, 2026.

When does the auction close?

• The auction closes at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026.

Where do I bid?

• Bidding takes place online through Zeffy.

Do I need to create an account?

• Yes. You will create a Zeffy account as part of the bidding process.

How will I know if someone outbids me?

• Zeffy will provide notifications according to its auction functionality and your notification settings. We recommend keeping an eye on your email and returning to the auction before it closes.

Can I change or cancel my bid?

• Bids cannot be changes or cancelled. Please review your bid carefully before submitting it.

What happens if I win?

• Payment will be processed via the credit card entered at the time of bidding. Winning bidders will receive instructions from Davis Arts Council about redemption of their experience.

When will I receive my experience?

• Redemption details vary by experience. Please review the individual auction listing for specific instructions, dates, restrictions, and expiration information.

Are there restrictions on the experiences?

• Some experiences may have restrictions, blackout dates, expiration dates, reservation requirements, age requirements, or other conditions. Please read the complete description of each experience before bidding.

Can someone else use my experience if I win?

• After winners successfully receive their experience package, they may personally transfer or gift their winning experiences if their specific winning package does not include an applicable exclusion.

How does my auction participation relate to the Leadership Donor Circle?

• Winning bid contributions count toward 2027 season donor recognition. Donors with combined donations of $500 or more between May 1, 2026 and April 30, 2027 quality for Leadership Donor Circle status. Is my winning bid tax-deductible?

• Tax treatment can vary depending on the circumstances of the transaction and the experience received. Davis Arts Council recommends that bidders consult their own tax advisor regarding the tax treatment of any auction payment.

What if I have a question about an experience?

What if I have a technical problem while bidding?

What happens after the auction closes?

• Bidding ends at 10:00 a.m. on September 11. Davis Arts Council will process the results and contact winning bidders with next steps.

Terms & Conditions

Davis Arts Council Online Experience Auction

By registering for or participating in the Davis Arts Council Online Experience Auction, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Auction Dates

The auction opens at 6:00 p.m. on September 7, 2026, and closes at 10:00 a.m. on September 11, 2026. Davis Arts Council reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the auction, in whole or in part, if circumstances require.

2. Eligibility

Bidders must meet any age, registration, geographic, or other eligibility requirements established by Davis Arts Council, Zeffy, or the individual experience donor. Davis Arts Council reserves the right to refuse or cancel participation when permitted by applicable law or these Terms & Conditions.

3. Bidding

All bids submitted through the official auction platform are considered binding, subject to applicable law and these Terms & Conditions.

Bidders are responsible for entering their bids accurately and for monitoring their account and email notifications throughout the auction.

4. Closing of the Auction

The auction officially closes at 10:00 a.m. on September 11, 2026.

Bids submitted after the official closing time will not be accepted unless required by the auction platform’s published rules or due to a verified technical issue.

5. Winning Bidders

The highest eligible bidder at the close of the auction will be designated the winner of the applicable experience, subject to payment and verification.

Davis Arts Council will contact winning bidders using the information provided during registration.

6. Payment

If a winning bidder does not complete payment within the required timeframe, Davis Arts Council reserves the right to offer the experience to another eligible bidder or otherwise determine the disposition of the experience.

7. Experiences

Experiences are donated to Davis Arts Council by individuals, businesses, artists, organizations, or other community partners.

Each experience is offered as described in its individual auction listing. Bidders are responsible for reviewing the listing and all associated restrictions before placing a bid.

Unless otherwise stated, experiences are subject to the availability, scheduling requirements, restrictions, and expiration dates specified by the donor.

8. Experience Fulfillment

Davis Arts Council will provide winning bidders with instructions for redeeming their experience.

In many cases, the donor or experience provider will be responsible for scheduling or delivering the experience. Davis Arts Council is not responsible for circumstances outside its reasonable control that affect the donor’s or provider’s ability to fulfill an experience.

If an experience cannot be fulfilled as originally described, Davis Arts Council will work with the donor and winning bidder to determine an appropriate resolution.

9. Transfers

Auction experiences may be transferred or gifted to another person after the winner has successfully received their experience package as long as their specific winning package does not include an applicable exclusion.  Winners must facilitate the transfer or gift themselves.

10. Refunds and Cancellations

Unless otherwise required by law or expressly stated by Davis Arts Council, winning bids are considered final.

11. Estimated Values

Any stated value for an auction experience is an estimated fair-market value provided for informational purposes and does not represent a guaranteed cash value.

Auction experiences are not redeemable for cash unless expressly stated in the individual auction listing.

12. Leadership Donor Circle

Eligible auction contributions may be credited toward Leadership Donor Circle status for the upcoming season, subject to Davis Arts Council’s applicable donor recognition policies.

13. Tax Information

Davis Arts Council does not provide individual tax advice. Bidders are responsible for determining the tax treatment of their auction payments and should consult their own tax advisor with questions about deductibility.

14. Technical Issues

Davis Arts Council and Zeffy are not responsible for delays, interruptions, errors, or technical failures beyond their reasonable control.

If a technical issue materially affects the integrity of the auction, Davis Arts Council reserves the right to extend, suspend, restart, or otherwise modify the auction as reasonably necessary.

15. Accuracy of Information

Davis Arts Council makes reasonable efforts to ensure that auction listings are accurate and complete. However, experience availability, scheduling, restrictions, and other details may be subject to change.

Any material changes will be communicated to affected bidders when reasonably possible.

16. Privacy

Bidder information will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy policies and the terms of the Zeffy platform.

17. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for and/or placing a bid in the Davis Arts Council Online Experience Auction, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
