An air ambulance patient is giving back by organising a community fundraiser.

Behroze Gandhy, of Ryde, is hosting the event, called Air Ambulance Heroes, after being airlifted to hospital by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance service earlier this year.

The fundraiser will take place on Saturday, September 12, from 12pm to 5pm at Network Ryde, at St Thomas’s Church on St Thomas’s Street in Ryde.

Ms Gandhy said: "I am beyond grateful to the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance team and the paramedics.

"Their care, expertise and rapid response played a crucial role in saving my life.

"Air Ambulance Heroes is my way of saying thank you and giving something back to help ensure this incredible service can continue saving lives across our communities."

The free event will feature dance and music alongside raffles and fundraising activities.

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance relies on public donations to deliver advanced pre-hospital emergency care to people in life-threatening situations.
