Robert Drover, Freshwater:
WITH yet more serious road traffic incidents being reported almost daily, is it not time for the authorities to review ALL Isle of Wight road signage and speed limits, and consider warning signage for visitors at ferry ports?
For those who might question this proposition, may I suggest a ride on the buses.
Bus drivers have to brake so often because of oncoming vehicles coming at speed towards them and their passengers.

Many bus routes are along narrow roads with high hedges, further reducing visibility, with some so high that even from the top deck, it is not possible to see beyond them!
Additionally, our road verges are overgrown, narrowing available road width, yet more — endangering both cyclists and walkers.
Also, signage — and even traffic lights — are often obscured by vegetation.
Island roads are different. My plea is for an overall 40mph limit.
How many more people need to be maimed or to die?
