Vanessa Clarke

Vanessa is an education correspondent. She covers all areas but her specialism is the early years. She started off in regional journalism for ITV and the BBC before joining the BBC Breakfast team as a producer, and then the health team, followed by home affairs. She spends a lot of her time listening to very chatty toddlers - both at work filming in nurseries and at home with her own girls. She hails from the west coast of Ireland and while she loves living in the Peak District, she does miss the sea.
