The JSPCA said its first Favourite Animal Moments Photo Competition invited people aged five and upwards to submit photos "celebrating the special bond between animals and people".

The charity said winning photographs would feature in its 2027 calendar with all proceeds supporting animal welfare services across the island.

Chief executive of the JSPCA Pam Aubert said the charity was "over the moon with the response" to its first launch of the competition.

Adam Heath, was part of the judging panel, and said judges were impressed by the quality of entrants.

He said: "I have to say that we found judging really difficult, due to the huge response and the extraordinary variety of images submitted.

"We tried to choose photos people will enjoy looking at and hope it generates much needed funds to support the fantastic work of the JSPCA for the people and pets of Jersey."
