Brits are calling for fines to be introduced for anyone caught playing loud music on public transport across the UK.
It follows a recent ruling in Singapore in which bus passengers can now be fined up to $500 Singapore dollars (£293) for putting their feet on seats, playing loud audio, eating, drinking or littering on board.
Plus, the Singapore government has introduced a further fine of up to $5,000 for more serious offences like creating obstructions, or "the soiling of any part of a public bus, bus interchange, or terminal".
Now, Brits are calling for a similar law to be introduced to the capital to help improve bus etiquette.
Calls for more enforcement to anyone playing music on buses
The new Singapore law gained attention on the Reddit group R/London, as one user asked: "Why can't we implement this?"
Reacting to the post, one local said, "I'd happily see this brought in here.
"Playing music out loud on a bus is just obnoxious."
As another Reddit user wrote, "I also want people to stop thinking it's reasonable to have phone calls on loudspeaker and talk like it's a walkie-talkie.
"When did that start being a thing?
"It makes you look a f*****g prat and is wildly inappropriate."
However, while many believe the rule should come into force for the UK, others suggested that it would be hard to enforce.
As one Reddit user said, "Fining people is genuinely really hard though.
"We can't fine kids because they don't have any source of income and it's really hard to fine adults without much money either.
"The kinds of societies that have good compliance with rules have it because there's a strong culture of rule-following, enforced by social pressures.
"The actual legal penalties tend to be symbolic and rarely needed."
