A widower has donated £10,000 to help improve the lives of older people across Hampshire.
The gift was given to Age Concern Hampshire by a husband whose late wife had benefited from the charity’s free Form Filling Service, which helps people access financial support and entitlements.
The husband, who wished to remain anonymous, made the donation in thanks for the support they received during a difficult period.

Brogan Rehill, head of strategy, partnerships and community impact at Age Concern Hampshire, said: "For a local charity like Age Concern Hampshire, a £10,000 donation is incredibly significant and will help us continue providing vital support to older people across Hampshire.
"What makes this gift particularly special is the story behind it.
"It came from someone who experienced first-hand the difference our Form Filling Service and support of our volunteers could make at a really difficult time.
"For that support to have meant enough for someone to want to give back in this way is incredibly moving, and a wonderful reminder of the lasting impact our staff and volunteers can have on people’s lives.
"This generous donation will help us support more older people across Hampshire and help more people to access practical support, including through our Form Filling Service, when they need it most."
The donor’s wife was able to claim additional benefits thanks to the service, easing some of the pressures they faced as her health declined.
The husband told the charity that the support had made a real difference during a particularly difficult period.
The donation is also eligible for Gift Aid, allowing Age Concern Hampshire to claim an additional £2,500 at no extra cost to the donor.
Age Concern Hampshire offers a wide range of practical and social support services designed to help older people remain independent, confident and connected within their communities.
This includes its Information and Advice service, which guides individuals and families through the often complex process of identifying and applying for financial help and other services.
The charity’s free Form Filling Service is available for applications such as Attendance Allowance, Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Pension Credit and Blue Badge applications.
Age Concern Hampshire relies on donations, fundraising, and the continued generosity of its supporters to deliver these vital services.
