Christmas was still a ways away but Peter wasn't very good about being patient about stuff. The fact that it was a gift for someone else just made it that much harder to wait. He honestly wasn't even entirely sure if MJ would like the gift, it was really hard to get a read on her sometimes, but he thought that she might appreciate the effort and thought he put into it.
His leg bounced impatiently at the lunch table as he waited for MJ to join him, the present under his jacket. It was a signed copy of Between the World and Me. He was sure that she'd probably already read it but a signed copy had to be cool, right? At least he hoped it was.
Picking at his food with his fork Peter hoped that MJ showed up soon or he was going to explode. She would probably refuse to open it until actual Christmas or refuse to accept it at all because Christmas was an appropriated holiday that was an excuse for mass consumerism or something like that but at least he'd have tried.
