Opinion: How 17 syllables a day can change your life

I'm going to try this. At this point, I have nothing to lose.
wendelah1: a single autumn leaf (Autumn leaf)
To any Canadians reading this who are still celebrating today, happy feasting.

I don't know how I missed this in my Finding Fan Fiction On Live Journal post, but if you like drabbles, [livejournal.com profile] stellar_dust and [livejournal.com profile] done_one revived [livejournal.com profile] xf_drabble a couple of months ago. There have been some lovely things posted recently, including There Are Women in which [livejournal.com profile] memories_child channels Dylan Thomas, and In The Farmer's Garden by [livejournal.com profile] aidy, which broke my heart.

Over in [livejournal.com profile] idunnoh's latest post, [livejournal.com profile] fayanora has posted Discordian Haiku. Don't ask, just read.

I recently signed up for Army Of Women, which is ironic considering that it's my youngest brother who is scheduled for a mammogram and an ultrasound tomorrow. Prayers/Positive Vibes are welcomed.

My work granted me a holiday today, for which I am grateful. There have been fires burning out of control on three fronts in the San Fernando Valley, though not close in to my neighborhood. My lungs hurt from the smoke-filled air. My heart hurts for the thousands who have been evacuated, for those residents of Lake View Terrace who have lost their homes, and for the two lives that were lost.

I was inspired by [profile] pro_hominum to go to the haiku generator. This isn't bad, but I think it must have landed in one of my stories. I don't recall writing an actual entry like that. Did I?
