To any Canadians reading this who are still celebrating today, happy feasting.
I don't know how I missed this in my
Finding Fan Fiction On Live Journal post, but if you like drabbles,
stellar_dust and
done_one revived
xf_drabble a couple of months ago. There have been some lovely things posted recently, including
There Are Women in which
memories_child channels Dylan Thomas, and
In The Farmer's Garden by
aidy, which broke my heart.
Over in
idunnoh's latest post,
fayanora has posted
Discordian Haiku. Don't ask, just read.
I recently signed up for
Army Of Women, which is ironic considering that it's my youngest brother who is scheduled for a mammogram and an ultrasound tomorrow. Prayers/Positive Vibes are welcomed.
My work granted me a holiday today, for which I am grateful. There have been
fires burning out of control on three fronts in the San Fernando Valley, though not close in to my neighborhood. My lungs hurt from the smoke-filled air. My heart hurts for the thousands who have been evacuated, for those residents of Lake View Terrace who have lost their homes, and for the two lives that were lost.
