February + a meme
Feb. 28th, 2018 06:36 pmThis month I thought I'd try my hand at the ten things meme that's been going around.
( **Ten Things About Me** )
**Other things**
I forgot last month that I wanted to mention I just recently joined instagram. I'm queitimreadingthis and I mostly post pictures of various dogs and scenic shots along with the very rare selfie post.
Because I'm all about finding good chocolate to eat I stopped by Whole Foods the day after Valentine's day to acquire some post-holiday boxes of chocolate for cheap. I ended up with small boxes of Lift Chocolates and Lake Champlain Chocolates. The Lift Chocolates, which is local local company from Boulder, were quite good. But the Lake Champlain box has been mostly underwhelming. Does anybody have recs for quality chocolates that are reasonably priced? I seem to have set Godiva as my standard for reasonably priced and good quality in chocolate. I'm also not much of a fan of See's or Russell Stovers.
On the job front I spoke too soon about the bakery finally being fully staffed. That only lasted for a hot minute. The new lady finally got hired a couple weeks ago and she trained with me for a few days. Let me just say, training someone else is HARD. Everything you do takes twice as long and by the end of the day I just wanted her gone so she wouldn't be in the way and I could get at least a few things done in a normal time frame. Anyway, about a week into training her we found out that the new guy had found a job in the field he's in school for and had put in his notice. His last day was today, in fact. So there's that.
I have the opportunity to take a couple trips this spring/summer that I would love to do but I'm not quite sure I'll have saved enough money to do both and keep building up my savings for other things. In May my niece is going to Orlando for a cheer competition and late in the summer my mom is planning on driving from Colorado to Washington State then down the 101 highway to California than driving thru Vegas to head home. I've never been to Florida and May seems like an ideal time to do it. I couldn't take enough time off work for all of Mom's road trip but the stretch from Seattle or Portland down to Cali. would be AMAZING. I've always wanted to go to Redwood National Park and Sequoia National Park and Mom's interested in those too. She's also mentioned maybe going to Yosemite National Park. Doing all of that would be a dream but I may have to chose just one, which would suck. I'm leaning towards the trip with Mom if I have to chose just one, as I already have another family focused trip in our trip to Glendo in WY with the cousins.
