THE FLYING SCOTSMAN

Author's notes: I thought that "Tómas" was the weirdest story I've ever written. Well, I was wrong!
Summary: There's nothing that a leprechaun wouldn't do for his treasure, so all is not lost for James Norrington.

DEAD MAN WALKING

Summary: Trapped between a rock and a hard place, Gillette and Groves find themselves at the mercy of a mermaid.

LAST STITCH

Warnings: Some details concerning the burial at sea might be disturbing.
Summary: Following a battle with the Black Pearl, the crew of the Dauntless prepares for the sad duty of committing the bodies of their fallen mates to the sea. Norrington breaks with an age-old tradition, unaware of the consequences this will have.

It came with the information that “Officer Gilette” (sic) had also made it into the book. And indeed:



Great news! Lt. Gillette on the lid would give my laptop at work a little more credibility than the “I can haz brainz?” zombie sticker that it’s currently sporting, though one could argue that it’s perfectly fitting for our meetings.

POTC: OST GALLERY

When the movie came out, eagle-eyed fans spotted that Groves, seemingly injured and not dead, was carried away by his fellow men. Capping through the mess of that movie, I noticed that Gillette was carried away as well. Both Groves and Gillette moved, so this was either a small blunder, or they'll return from the dead in one of the next 209503892 sequels. Poor lads. Couldn't somebody offer them a job in a future M &C sequel...?

An interesting "behind-the-scenes" interview with the nice Greg Ellis who talks about the role of nice Mr. Groves in a nice movie. :-P Nice Damian O'Hare is mentioned, that's how I found it. :-)

Geoffrey Rush was a guest on Craig Ferguson's talk show, and they showed a snipped from PotC 4 - a treat for all fans of Barbossa (being all admiral-y and motivational!) and Mr. Groves, but Mr. Gillette is also there, looking mightily miffed in the background!

New official promo pictures have surfaced (click here and scroll down to see assorted pirates and mermaids).



Poor Gillette still doesn’t have a first name. I hope he'll forgive me, but I quite fine with him never getting one. He'll always be Thomas to me, and I'd refuse to rewrite all my stories to call him Gervase, Montague or Wilkinson, anyway.

This "team" promises to be hilarious (that, or the stuff nightmares are made of, but at the moment, I'm still in the "hilarious" camp).

The first official trailer for "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" is now online, and huzzah, our dear lieutenant is in it! The other dear lieutenant as well; actually, Mr. Gillette and Mr. Groves got themselves new wigs since the first movie. And a new captain. James Norrington, wherever you are: NOW would be the perfect moment for your return!

I was happy to see the stats for Ambarussa going through the roof, though. Googling for Gillette! :-)
