I am delighted to have completed my 6 week summer internship with IFM Investors, working under the guidance of Tomas Knapp and Jose Alberto Marin Campo. Over the past weeks, I had the chance to work on a range of in-depth research tasks that deepened my understanding of the intricacies of fund management. Analysing market trends, assessing potential investments, and exploring the interplay between macroeconomic factors and long-term strategies gave me a broader perspective on how decisions are made in a global investment environment. A highlight of the internship was attending the IFM Summer Party, where I had the opportunity to network with colleagues from across the business and hear from a range of individuals about their career journeys and perspectives on the industry. The advice and insights I received were invaluable, and the event was a fantastic reminder of the supportive and collaborative culture at IFM. A special thank you to Deepa Bharadwaj and Catherine Goodhind for organising such a smooth and engaging internship programme - I’m extremely grateful to have had this experience as it has reinforced my enthusiasm for finance and investment and given me invaluable skills!

This summer I had the pleasure of interning at Pantheon. I spent 9 weeks working in the Primary Investment team, experiencing private equity investing first-hand. I worked on a range of projects, and each piece of work improved a variety of my technical and professional skills - I couldn’t be more grateful! What made the experience particularly meaningful is the amazing environment and culture at Pantheon. I connected with colleagues inside and outside of my team, and everyone was eager to help and share advice. Working on meaningful projects with such experienced and kind people allowed me to learn more than ever! I’d like to thank Tamsin Seymour in particular, I couldn’t have asked for a more supportive manager and you made a huge difference to my experience! Thankyou to everyone at Pantheon, I can’t wait to stay in touch as I continue in my career! This summer I had the opportunity to join the Energy and Infrastructure Financing team at Investec as an intern. It was a fantastic learning experience, enabling me to develop new skills and a deeper understanding of bespoke lending. I worked on live transactions by preparing presentation materials and drafting a screening paper for a potential new project, as well as conducting annual reviews of two electric vehicle companies to analyse performance and debt changes. These projects gave me a clearer view of how deals are structured and exposure to the diverse energy technologies and financing solutions shaping the market. I am grateful to Anupam S. and Sarah Aitken for the time and insight they shared and to Brittany Toombs and Arhana Samant Dhariwal, CFA for their invaluable day-to-day guidance! Above all, thank you to the entire Energy and Infrastructure Financing team for being so generous with their time and knowledge, which made the experience both enjoyable and rewarding. One of the things I valued most at Investec was how easy it was to connect with people across the business. From coffee chats to conversations with colleagues in completely different areas, everyone was approachable and open to sharing their experiences, lessons I’ll carry forward. Collaborating with the intern cohort also brought plenty of opportunities for growth - from an investment presentation, where our team placed 2nd, to a culture project, where we placed 1st. A huge thank you to Shaleen Aslam for organising such a thoughtful and creative programme, with everything from development sessions to a Pilates class, that made the summer so memorable!

Young Women Into Finance is growing! We are looking for an experienced woman from the Infra/Energy finance/investment world who can come onto the Trustee Board and help us manage what is becoming a very successful charity. Our most acute need as we scale up the program is for more and more summer internship spots for our excellent students - we have more than ever looking for places next summer and so we seek a new Trustee who can help us generate them. Beyond this though, we are also looking for someone who can be additive to the Trustee Board and help us continue to develop as a professional and efficiently-run charity which meets all its legal obligations, so anyone with existing charity trustee experience will be of great interest.
