This update from the Civil Aviation Authority eases regulation challenges for orbital operators and gives greater flexibility over ground station use, without repeated licence variations. We’re pleased to have worked with the CAA and government partners to help shape the change. Andrew D., Head of Commercial, Legal and Regulation at Space Forge, said: “This progressive update demonstrates the CAA's openness toward collaboratively working with industry partners. It’s a welcome change and shows the CAA is committed to supporting industry growth, reducing operational costs, and administrative burdens where possible.”

We've always said getting back is just as important as getting there. As more materials are manufactured in space, they'll need somewhere to return, be processed and re-enter the supply chain. That ambition was on full display at last week's event, Atlantic Space Hub: Designing the Future of Space, hosted by Agência Espacial Portuguesa that brought together researchers, engineers, policymakers and commercial pioneers to explore the future of the space economy. CTO & Co-Founder Andrew Bacon joined discussions on how microgravity is unlocking everything from next-generation semiconductor materials to a deeper understanding of the human body and the development of future medicines. The conversation has moved beyond access to orbit. The focus now is how we turn orbit into an industrial platform that delivers real-world impact.

Backing deep tech has always taken conviction. Back in 2020, the Bristol Private Equity Club took a chance on Space Forge when we were still a young company with the ambitious idea of manufacturing materials in space and bringing them home.
