A summer of Savills sports, training and charity for our teams across Europe! ☀️ 🏐 The Savills Poland team proudly took third place in the 15th JLL Charity Beach Volleyball Tournament, which brought together Poland’s real estate industry to support Ronald McDonald House Charities Poland. A fantastic day of sport, positive energy and teamwork – all for a great cause. 🏄 Savills España spent the day with Soñar Despierto Foundation at El Masnou Sailing Club in 📍Barcelona, sharing water-based activities, fun experiences and special moments with children in care. A big thank you to all the volunteers who made it possible, and to the Soñar Despierto Foundation for giving us the opportunity to be part of such an inspiring initiative. 🏃 This October, members of the Central London Investment & Agency teams in the UK will be taking on the Royal Parks Half Marathon to raise funds for Rays of Sunshine Children's Charity. Good luck to all participants with training and the upcoming run!

But while the case for retrofit is clear, the question of who pays remains far less straightforward. Retrofit has become both a necessity and a commercial dilemma. The challenge is not simply whether a building should be improved, but how the cost, risk and benefit of that improvement should be shared. 🌡️ The UK is experiencing a hot summer with heatwaves set to become more frequent, longer and more intense as the climate warms. London has the Thames Barrier to protect against flooding, but there is no equivalent solution for heat. Preparing for a warmer world requires an approach that considers how buildings, cities and communities are designed to adapt.
