Marketing reports can look tidy and still lead the business in the wrong direction. That happens when the numbers are arranged around activity or channel efficiency rather than commercial quality. CPA is down, but repeat purchase is weak. ROAS looks acceptable, but margin is under pressure. Traffic has grown, but the customer mix is getting worse. The problem is not reporting itself. It is the reporting that makes the easiest number feel like the most important number. A useful report should help the business make better decisions about profit, growth and customers. If it only proves that activity happened, it is not doing enough. James has put into words something we believe strongly at Qoob: strong client relationships depend on clear, direct communication. Our work with APS Garden Machinery had two connected challenges. We needed to prove that Ecommerce could grow without undermining margins, while helping the team understand the channels, the data and the decisions behind that growth. The results included 4.7x more online orders, 2.9x more online revenue and a 9.5x return on ad spend. Just as importantly, the work helped build confidence in Ecommerce as a credible, scalable part of the business. https://lnkd.in/etv2s6zd #Ecommerce #Marketing
Every client relationship hits a bump eventually. A campaign flops. Performance dips. Or a project turns out to be way trickier than anyone first scoped. It happens, and no agency gets it right 100% of the time. In my experience, those moments get worse the longer you leave them alone. A quick phone call is worth ten back-and-forth emails. You explain what happened, answer their questions directly, and agree on what’s next before small misunderstandings turn into big problems. When we teamed up with APS Garden Machinery in late 2024 (following a successful paid ads trial), we had two clear goals: - The commercial goal: Prove we could scale online sales without chewing into their profit margins. - The education goal: Walk their team through how digital channels actually work so they could make sense of the data. That took a lot of honest, candid conversations. It wasn't just about dropping a monthly report into their inbox; it was about building real confidence in the strategy. By the end of 2025, our first full year together, the numbers spoke for themselves: 📈 9.5x Return on Ad Spend 📦 4.7x Increase in Online Orders 💰 2.9x Increase in Online Revenue Jess at APS summed it up best: "Good communication and a responsive team. Once everything was up and running, it has been a positive experience working with Qoob." - Jess Earthy, APS Garden Machinery Clients don't expect perfection. They expect honesty and a solid plan. Handled well, those uncomfortable conversations almost always leave the relationship stronger than it was before.

A direct-to-consumer channel can complement distributor relationships while giving manufacturers clearer first-party insight. It is a commercial opportunity, not a shortcut. The modern Ecommerce customer often starts doubting the purchase long before checkout. They question the value, compare alternatives, scan reviews, check delivery terms and look for reasons not to regret the decision. If the journey does not answer those doubts early enough, more traffic will not solve the problem. That is why conversion is not just a checkout metric. It is the result of product clarity, trust, pricing confidence, fulfilment expectations and a buying journey that removes doubt before it becomes an exit. The brands that understand changing behaviour will spend less time blaming traffic quality and more time fixing the reasons customers hesitate. "A website accessible in the EU" is a lower bar than most UK businesses realise. If someone in Dublin or Berlin can load your site and start talking to your chatbot, the EU AI Act is looking at you. It doesn't matter where the company is registered. In Episode 9 of Accelerating AI, Matthew Rigby-White (CMgr FCMI), Lionel Naidoo, and Andy Paul unpack what that means in practice. A manufacturer can have a strong product and still struggle with DTC. The problem is not always demand. It is often readiness. Direct customers ask different questions, expect clearer information, need better reassurance and judge the whole experience from first click to delivery. Trade relationships can hide some of those gaps because the distributor, retailer or sales team carries part of the customer experience. DTC removes that buffer. That is why direct growth needs more than media spend. It needs the business to be ready for the customer it wants to own. PPC rarely fails because the platforms are broken. It fails because it exposes a DTC proposition that was not ready for paid traffic. When manufacturers start selling direct, paid media is often blamed for patchy sales, high acquisition costs and disappointing returns. Yet the real problems usually sit behind the campaigns: a vague offer, weak product pages, unreliable tracking or unit economics that cannot support the cost of acquiring a customer. Putting more budget into that setup does not solve it. It simply makes the weaknesses more expensive. The better approach is to identify which products can carry acquisition cost, build pages that convert cold traffic, fix the measurement and test demand with commercial discipline. APS Garden Machinery followed that logic and achieved 4.7x more online orders year on year, 2.9x more online revenue and a 9.5x return on ad spend. Our latest article explains the five PPC mistakes manufacturers make when moving into DTC, and what to fix before increasing spend. A higher CPA is not automatically a problem. It depends what came with it. A campaign that costs more to acquire a customer can still be the better commercial decision if those customers spend more, return more often, buy higher-margin products or move the business into a stronger audience. The opposite is also true. A cheap campaign can look efficient while filling the business with customers who never come back. Paid media should not be judged by first-sale cost in isolation. It has to be judged by the quality of growth it creates. Read the full insight here: https://lnkd.in/eguaGRXr #PPCStrategy #EcommerceMarketing #RevenueGrowth

An AI agent without a clear job is just another loose process with better branding. Before a business asks what an agent can automate, it should define what the work actually requires. What information does it need? What decisions can it make? What needs human approval? What does good output look like? Who is accountable when it goes wrong? Those questions sound operational because they are. They are also the difference between AI that helps and AI that creates another layer of mess. The businesses that benefit from agents will be the ones that give them clear responsibilities and keep human judgement in the right places. The tactics that help an Ecommerce brand get moving are not always the tactics that help it grow properly. Early growth often comes from proving demand, finding product-market fit and getting the basics working. Later growth is different. It needs stronger retention, better margin control, clearer reporting, sharper acquisition and a website that can support a larger commercial role. That is why some businesses feel stuck even when they are still busy. They are trying to solve a more mature growth problem with the same tactics that got them started. The useful question is not only what should we do next. It is what stage of growth are we really in?
