Continuation funds have moved from the margins to the mainstream.   Once a niche part of the market, continuation funds are now reshaping how sponsors think about exits, ownership, and liquidity. Since 2018, the market has scaled from 13 funds raising $9bn to 123 funds raising $75bn in 2025.   The takeaway: continuation funds are no longer just a response to a slower exit market.
