We're pleased to announce a new collaboration in support of foundational AI research in the UK. Nscale has signed a letter of intent in support of the British Open-ended Learning & Discovery Lab (BOLD) Lab — setting out our intention to support BOLD with a $1 million compute contribution. BOLD's mission is to build AI approaches that are open, human-centered, and resource-efficient. It is composed of world-class researchers across the University of Oxford, UCL, and Imperial College London and has been backed by UK government funding to make vital breakthroughs. Through this collaboration, BOLD researchers will gain access to Nscale's advanced AI compute infrastructure, enabling them to test ambitious new approaches to machine learning at scale. Nscale and BOLD are now working to finalize infrastructure, access, and operational arrangements, and are exploring wider opportunities for technical and educational collaboration.
