🚀 Putting food and drink engineering on the careers map    KP Snacks, home to some of the UK’s best-known snack brands, joined us as our first partner from the food & drink sector! As a regional partner in East Central England for our “If you were an engineer, what would you do?” Leaders Award competition in 2025/26, they helped young people discover the tech, creativity and problem-solving behind modern manufacturing.    As KP Snacks put it: “Partnering with Primary Engineer provides a fantastic opportunity to engage with schools and communities, helping to raise awareness, spark curiosity and inspire future engineers. For us, it’s about investing in the talent of our region and ensuring local young people can build rewarding careers close to home. Being the first partner from the food and drink sector is something we’re incredibly proud of. We know people want to be more active. The question is: what’s stopping them? Our latest research found that cost, confidence and a lack of local opportunities remain significant barriers to getting active. Almost seven in 10 people living in urban areas say they’d like to move more, and nearly a third would give cricket a go if it were available closer to home. This week we were delighted to welcome TV presenter and podcast host, Vicky Pattison, to help us launch the KP Snacks Everyone In Fund - a £750,000 investment over three years to support the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB)’s Cricket Cities Programme. Vicky grew up just outside Newcastle, one of the cricket cities, and is backing our campaign to create more accessible cricket opportunities in underserved urban communities. Together with the ECB, we’re proud to be helping bring cricket into more communities and creating welcoming, accessible opportunities for people to get active, connect and belong. 🏏 #EveryoneIn #TheHundred #CricketCities

This month we visited The Felix Project's Midlands warehouse in Birmingham to see first-hand what happens to the short shelf-life products we donate. The visit provided a valuable insight into the incredible work The Felix Project does to rescue surplus food, reduce waste and support communities across the UK. From redistributing food to charities and community organisations, to transforming ingredients into ready-made meals and providing employability opportunities, the impact of their work is truly inspiring. A few insights that stood out from the visit: ✳️ A simple packet of crisps can help spark conversations, create moments of connection and bring a sense of normality to people facing difficult circumstances. Bringing people together over food also creates opportunities to connect with others and with support services ✳️ Through our partnership, KP Snacks' has donated the equivalent of more than 200,000 meals and helped prevent over 95 tonnes of product from going to waste. Seeing the journey our products take after leaving KP Snacks was a powerful reminder of how partnerships can create a positive impact - helping us to tackle food waste while supporting people and communities across the UK. A huge thank you to The Felix Project team for welcoming us and sharing the impact of this important partnership. We're proud to play our part in sharing more happy snacking moments with those who need them most, whilst reducing food waste. 💚♻️🥔 FareShare UK Grant Seastram Shay Dempsey Christopher Leech Kate Brown #HappySnackingMoments #ProudtobeKP

  • We are delighted to announce the launch today of our Everyone In Fund to support the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB)'s Cricket Cities Programme. This three-year, £750k investment will help will help support grassroots cricket projects in urban communities across England and Wales, with a focus on removing barriers to participation and helping more people get active through the sport. It will support the ECB's Cricket Cities Programme, which works across 21 urban communities in England and Wales, including areas of London, Birmingham, Bradford, Manchester, Leeds, Nottingham and Bristol, to remove barriers to participation through locally designed initiatives that reflect the needs of each area. The new initiative follows our successful, six-year-and-counting partnership with The Hundred and builds on our team-up with the England men's and women's national cricket teams, which began last summer.  It also builds on our Everyone In initiative, which was created to champion healthier lifestyles by inspiring more people to get physically active. We began partnering with the ECB in 2022 to install 119 all-weather, grassroots cricket pitches in parks and public spaces across the UK. With the most recent Sport England data showing that almost 40 per cent of UK adults and over 50 per cent of young people are not meeting the government-recommended activity targets, this latest investment marks the latest step in our continued commitment to providing more opportunities for people to become physically active. Our cricket partnerships, from The Hundred to the England teams, are a powerful platform for KP Snacks to inspire participation and support lasting change, using cricket as a route into activity that can help more people move, more often. 🏏 https://lnkd.in/emtmbEYz #EveryoneIn #Cricket #EveryoneInFund
