  • Constipation is often blamed on lack of fibre or insufficient fluid intake, but new research points to another factor: your body clock. A narrative review¹ introduces the term "gut jet lag" to describe what happens when the body's circadian rhythm, gut microbiome and intestinal motility fall out of sync – and suggests this disruption may contribute to functional constipation. The review proposes that circadian disruption could reduce gut bacteria's production of short-chain fatty acids, weaken the morning contractions that support motility, and increase intestinal permeability and low-grade inflammation. This may help explain why people with irregular routines, including shift workers, are more likely to experience digestive issues. Importantly, this is a theoretical model, not a clinical trial – most evidence comes from animal or observational studies, and larger trials are needed before circadian-based approaches can be routinely recommended for constipation. Constipation is multi-factorial, and gut jet lag will not be the culprit in every case. Still, the review reinforces the value of regular routines: consistent sleep and wake times, regular mealtimes, avoiding late-night eating, and morning daylight exposure – small, low-risk habits that may support your gut's rhythm alongside fibre, fluids and movement. • We're proud partners of Iconic Cycling Events, sharing supplement know-how with riders across their calendar. At Bike Oxford 2026, over 500 cyclists took to Oxfordshire's roads and raised more than £40,000 for 24 local charities – reason enough for us to love this partnership. We ran a little experiment at Bike Bath this July: hiding PHGG in cyclists' post-race water cups. The verdict? Not a single rider noticed a thing – no taste, no texture - nothing. Just a couple hundred taste testers, enjoying a simple fibre top-up. Next stop: Bike Cotswold on August 30th #CyclingEvents #Fibremaxxing #GutHealth #BikeCotswold #Partnerships

Gut-brain Gut-brain Gut-brain For me, I’ve always felt the connection however not always listened. How many of us do that? We know it’s linked, yet we still continue to live in a way that somewhat disregards the evidence. We quieten it, distract ourselves from it, forget about it, avoid it - what ever we do… it doesn’t change the fact that they are so intelligently linked. It’s so interesting and I’m learning something new everyday at Invivo Healthcare If you’re a qualified healthcare professional and would like to be involved in the conversation - TOMORROW Microba have their next Clinical Conversations webinar.   Guest speaker is Dr Miguel Toribio-Mateas CBiol 🟢, a clinical neuroscientist, applied microbiologist and nutrition researcher specialising in the microbiota-gut-brain axis.   Co-hosting with Miguel is Dana Chapman, one of our Clinical Growth leaders. • "Buy new" isn't the only option - when your business needs IT hardware.   A few years ago we needed a large screen for the office. Instead of buying new, we bought it refurbished through Reconome, a fellow Certified B Corporation™ that repurposes surplus technology, reduces e-waste and supports digital inclusion. Where we can, we cover our IT needs second hand first. This week... that screen started its next chapter. It still has plenty of life in it, so we've donated it to Thomas Keble School, our local secondary school here in Gloucestershire. The school's operations manager Guy O'Malley and our warehouse lead Angus Perry helped ease it, carefully, it's heavy, into the school minibus. One screen, three lives so far: 🔨 Refurbished 💚 Well used 🤝 Passed on None of this is complicated. It just means asking a slightly different question at the point of purchase: Not "what's the fastest way to get this?" but "who else could this decision benefit?" If your organisation is reviewing how it buys or retires IT equipment, suppliers like Reconome make the circular option remarkably easy. Thank you Katharina Child for your commitment to sustainability & community, we appreciate all you do for Invivo and others! 🫶 #BCorp #CircularEconomy #SustainableProcurement #EWaste #Community

This week at Invivo Healthcare focused on strategic thinking- and seeing what actually goes on behind a marketing campaign. A few highlights: 🔍 Collaborated on a paid ads audit 🗓️ Supported campaign planning 🛠️ Got consistent hands on experience with the tools and systems used across the team on a daily basis 🤝 Joined a Lunch and Learn session as an opportunity to discover local charities partnered with Invivo- a great reminder of how purpose driven values shape the brand My biggest takeaway? Recognising marketing not only relies on creative instinct, but that extensive research and analysis equally advises impactful marketing decisions. My work with the team so far has really brought this to life and I’m so grateful to have learnt so much already! #MarketingInternship #GutHealth #Microbiome #InvivoHealthcare

What an incredible day yesterday at Microba’s very first in-person Clinical Conversations event at the Royal College of Pathologists. It was fantastic to bring together so many passionate practitioners in such a beautiful setting overlooking the London skyline. A huge thank you to: ✨ Tracey Wratten for sharing such an insightful case study ✨ Carolina Sanders for leading a wonderfully grounding breathwork session ✨ Our exhibitors, Invivo Healthcare ✨ And everyone who attended and contributed to such thoughtful conversations and great vibes throughout the day These events are all about creating space for connection, learning, and collaboration within the practitioner community, and London was an amazing start. Next stops over the coming weeks: 📍 Bristol 📍 Tunbridge Wells 📍 York Looking forward to continuing the conversations and meeting even more practitioners along the way.

  • A day off-site, but right on mission! Last week our team spent a glorious day in the sunshine at Goods Small Farm and Oakbrook Farm - both of which are just a field or two away from our offices in Stroud. We got hands-on with regenerative, small-scale agriculture - a reminder that soil quality and biodiversity have a powerful impact on food long before it reaches the plate. What stood out most? Their commitment to working with nature, not against it - something we deeply align with at Invivo. Supporting the microbiome isn't just about supplements; it's about understanding the full ecosystems behind what we consume. Beyond the learning, the day gave us space to slow down, reconnect as a team, and step outside our usual routines. A huge thanks to Good Small Farms and Oakbrook Farm for the insight and inspiration, Katharina for making it all happen and Casey for capturing these moments.
