Jason Arday had for weeks been the focus of scrutiny following allegations that he plagiarised research and made false and exaggerated claims in his CV. When the plagiarism claims first emerged, Cambridge defended Arday, who in 2023 became its youngest-ever Black professor at the age of 37.
