Fresh from our allotment to your table 🍅🫛🥬🧅🧄 Did you know our vegetable stall is completely run by the people who make Ferring Country Centre so special? Our beautiful wooden stall was handcrafted by our talented Woodworking Pod, while every vegetable has been lovingly grown, cared for and harvested by our Day Service Customers in our allotment. The stall works on a simple donation basis. Just visit us, choose your fresh vegetables from the Garden Centre, then leave your donation at the Visitors Centre. Every donation goes straight back into the allotment, helping us buy seeds, tools and equipment for the next growing season. Our allotment is so much more than a place to grow vegetables. It's a place where adults with learning disabilities build confidence, develop new skills, gain independence and experience the pride of nurturing something from seed to harvest. So next time you visit, why not take home some fresh, homegrown produce? Every vegetable you choose helps us continue creating these life-changing opportunities. Thank you for helping our community grow.

As Learning Disability Awareness Week comes to a close, we're proud to share a glimpse into life at Ferring Country Centre's Day Service. Every day, people with learning disabilities take part in a wide range of activities that support skill development, confidence, independence and social connection. Whether working with animals, creating artwork, learning practical woodwork skills, gardening or spending time at the riding school, each individual has the opportunity to explore their interests and work towards their personal goals. For this year's awareness week, we invited some of our Day Service Customers to share what they enjoy most about coming to Ferring Country Centre. Their responses highlight something important: the impact of a Day Service goes far beyond the activities themselves. It is about friendship, belonging, purpose, confidence and being part of a supportive community. Learning Disability Awareness Week provides an opportunity to celebrate the achievements, talents and contributions of people with learning disabilities, while also recognising the importance of creating inclusive environments where everyone can thrive. We are incredibly proud of the people we support and grateful to our staff, volunteers, families and supporters who help make these opportunities possible every day. #Ferring40th #GiveShareGrow #LearningDisabilityAwareness
