A conglomeration of fragments

So I went to sleep last night, earlier than usual, and... woke up just before 3am. I don't know HOW long it took me to get back to sleep again, but I had to read for like 45 minutes before I could even try, so... :| :| :|

Clearly there is no point me trying to go to bed early unless I'm so sick I can't actually stay awake! Gah!

Anyway!

Today we went to the nearby fabric shop, and I didn't find anything there (also they are QUITE expensive, sigh), but we also went to spotlight, and I actually??? Found something I like there??? It's a purple space print, which is uh. Well. Let's be honest, it's no surprise I like it! The only way it could be more me is if it had rainbow bits!

I didn't buy it yet, though; we're gonna go to the shop A recommended tomorrow, and I'll see what I find there. But it's a distinct possibility, yesss. I suspect that either way I'll end up choosing a fabric tomorrow, hahahaha.

ALSO! We FINALLY got dates for the new windows! Next week, Wed-Thurs. SOON THEY WILL BE IN. SOOOOOON.

I actually tried to stay up when I got up to feed the cats, but even though I'd slept through the entire night I was falling asleep sitting up, so I also had my usual morning nap. And now I'm awake at fucking 4am. I_GUESS.gif Body clearly has Opinions on when I should be awake, and who the fuck am I to try and force it otherwise when I don't have reason...

Anyway, other than Big Sleepy, I did some goddamn paperwork - apparently it was due in today, only they first sent me a notif that it needed doing on Saturday, and given that I try not to do work-related stuff on the weekend... Bleh. Still, done and not late, so that's okay. Gotta do some sort of "make your resume better" class, only you're supposed to book it via a to-do item, and that wasn't showing up, so I guess I'll just check back on the site every day until it does show up. Which is fine, just. Ugh. Why do I constantly have this kind of problem with it...

Also did some more work on the chook coop thing! We got an entire side finished! \o/ Probably coulda done more, except I was getting eaten alive by mozzies and fuck that. More tomorrow though, for sure!

Now that it's not, you know, hot enough to give you a sunburn in about ten minutes of direct sunlight (or at least it wasn't today, no promises for tomorrow, knowing the weather...), Mama and I worked on the chook coop thing some more! We're up to the point where we put chicken wire on the sides, so it's actually not difficult for once! Time consuming, 'cause you have to make sure it's taut and secured properly, but not difficult! :D

And then Terraria was on, finally! Everyone's been busy so it's been A While, but!!! We had a big fun session, and beat up the Moon Lord several times! :D :D :D Only need the Meowmere to get the Zenith, now!

I feel like there was something else, but my brain has gone splat, and I'm meeting A for lunch tomorrow soooo bed now. If it's important I'll remember later, probably.

Another hot day! With the north wind, too, which is uh. The hot one. Doesn't help. (I mean I personally love it but I'm a weirdo.) But the cool change has come through, and we had at least a minute of rain, so tomorrow will probably be milder. Which is very good given the fucking fires etc. They're uh. Not great!!!

Anyway, didn't do a huge amount today, due to the heat. Lots of flopping and playing stupid phone games and reading and stuff. Got another two stupid crosswords done, too, and I DID get some knitting done tonight, after it'd cooled down enough for it!

Anyway something something bedtime now yes. Yes.

It was hot today! But not humid! \o/

Even so, not being stupid I did very little! Lots of reading. Also Mama and I finished the puzzle! :3

Mama's been wanting to replace my curtains for years (they're pretty boring. But I also don't care that much), so she's seized on The Great Window Replacement as an excellent reason to do so. Which, I mean. True. Anyway, we're thinking maybe roman blinds rather than traditional curtains? But holy shit, the fabrics you can get them in - at least that I can find online - are SO FUCKING BORING omfg. Just. Greige. Maybe a tinge of blue or green if you're lucky. Even the ones clearly aimed at kids are on white backgrounds! I just. Nope.

Sooo I'm kinda wondering if it wouldn't be better to just make some. A's done it with hers, and they've lasted 25 years already, and she says it's not that hard... Definitely worth a try, I think! But will ask Mama what she thinks tomorrow, too. I'm not sure she's gonna be that open to it orz orz orz

Did a few things today!

• Went and got chook food with Mama. Very important! They're on the last of the previous batch, so.
• Also went shopping, ended up getting some of my favoured noodles (since they were on special), and some shiitake. I was HOPING to get one of the 1kg bags, but alas, no one had them right now. :( Next time!
• And then we tried to get lunch, but the place was closed (fair, they deserve a holiday! Just didn't know about it), and the next place we went was. Slow. Pretty clearly an 'inexperienced teenagers working in the family business while school's out' problem, though, so you know. It happens. (Mama was SUPER annoyed though.)
• Came home, finally had a nap after eating
• Did some weeding while we let the chooks out
• Did some puzzle
• Something something
• What the fuck where did the time go orz orz orz

So uh. Yeah. BED NOW, omfg why. Time. Stahp.

Nothing huge today, honestly. Napped all morning! Did nothing in particular the rest of the day, hahaha.

It's zucchini season again, so Mama made a zucchini cake - she's getting an even bigger crop than usual, so she's trying new recipes - which is pretty good! Can't tell there's zucchini in it, hahahaha.

Sushi is curled up in the middle of my couch looking adorable. :x Gonna be hard to poke him so I can go to sleep. Then again, he did knock three display containers onto me this morning, trying to get me to feed him early, so...

So! As it turns out Scout's humans are coming back tomorrow, not Saturday!

This is fine, just had to uh. Rejig my plans a bit! Because one less day, whoops. I was gonna spread some stuff out a bit more than I'll be able to but Oh Well, it's not like it's actually that important. I still can take plenty of breaks, I'm not gonna overdo it. (Probably.)

That being said I maybe DID overdo the weeding I did this afternoon, I felt kinda woozy afterwards. Not sure if it was too much sun/exercise, or just that I hadn't eaten enough beforehand (I forgot I hadn't had lunch, whoops), but that wasn't um. Great. But I'm fine now, so just a small miscalculation, nbd!

I do think I'll need to shower in the morning before I start cleaning and stuff though, bleh. Shoulda done it tonight probably, but I forgot, whoops... Anyway, I have a to-do list! It'll be fine! I think!!

Today I did the toe on the second sock, for the pair I'm making. Hopefully this means I'll never have to do a toe-up sock ever again, aaaargh. I mean. Yes, I know, I voluntarily chose to do it, but. It sucks. Bleh. (Magic loop WAS easier the second time. But still so fiddly!!! Much prefer DPNs.)

Despite how hot it was yesterday, it actually cooled down a LOT today - not that I realised for ages, since the house retained a lot of heat. And also humidity up the wazoo, since, you know, I was using the evaporative cooler. Major downside of one of those!

Still, the heat did clear out fairly quickly once I opened the front and back doors - one of the clear advantages of the older style houses with the big corridor down the middle! And my ankle's stopped bitching so much, so it's probably not going to change again at least for the next little while...

Also went to the shops again. Didn't need a huge amount, but I was half planning on getting dinner, too, but I just. Wasn't hungry by the time I got there. ^^;;; Didn't end up eating for another like... four hours. So I guess I was correct that I didn't need food...

So, Scout got out today. And by 'out' I mean 'onto the top of the shed, then into the neighbour's tree'. It was. Extremely stressful!

She did eventually come back, though, after enough time spent waving around her favourite toy and calling her and etc. So at least there was that! Clearly I was getting too complacent, though, this time I really only looked away for long enough to answer a text from Mama! As opposed to the not-few times I've zoned out a bit and freaked out when I couldn't see her immediately. I just. Caaaaats.

Anyway, not much other than that! Have to wake up early tomorrow, bleh, but it should be fine. Probably.
