Call me out! Antumbra edition.
Prompts!
In the land of gods and monsters: Shin will be very happy in his home world, which is a fairly normal 2010's America. Visit the city, marvel at modern technology, maybe meet Shin in a cafe somewhere. Just... Maybe don't follow him to that mysterious building he keeps frequenting if you don't want to run into any more merry murderers.
The secret life of Shin: Castmate option. Eddie got to see Shin get snatched up by some sort of demonic... Thing. Then he returned half an hour later. However Eddie handles this, things go more or less back on track after Shin takes Eddie to see his furniture. After the adventure with the grave robber, Shin manages to stick around a little longer than he does in canon. Does Danny want to ask why Shin suddenly cares more about his brother? Do Zack and Ray have the pleasure of touring his floor instead of Eddie's? Feel free to hit me up for plotting.
I've been everywhere, man: The AU where Shin gets stuck in someone else's world and has to survive until he figures out a way back home. Maybe he'll curb his murderous urges for a little longer while he gets a tour of your place.
Lizard end?: The AU where Shin is stuck as a half void. Luckily for him, it doesn't get too much worse, but he has to hide the fins from the public and deal with that horror hunger. At least in his world he's already getting a steady supply of victims, but...
Anything goes: This is basically a wildcard option. Make up your own prompt or steal a meme.

Perhaps that might be for the better, considering everything that hadn't gone back to normal for the furniture maker.
There was a subtle change in his demeanor that could easily be missed. A slight carefulness that wasn't there before. As an artist, he began to incorporate other media into his work, like making a grisly frame for a disturbing painting on canvas, or trying his hand at outdoor furniture made from skin and bone...
The strange substance that was found on the clothes of his last victim, he claimed, was paint they spilled on themselves as they tried to get away. Nobody else was there to see how much there was to clean up and no one could prove it was from something else.
No one would believe him if he told them the truth.
Yet he still had mental scars that he couldn't explain from experiences that turned his world on its head. Why did he believe that Reverend to begin with? Why was he offered a place here?
Those questions would eat him alive if they were left unanswered. It took him a good while to muster up his will and think carefully about what to ask, but here he is. Walking into the realm of "god" to gain audience with the reverend. ]
Father... May I have a moment of your time?

If he's surprised that Shin is coming to see him now, it isn't evident in his response; it's easy, coming in between the passages of the Bible that his attention is skirting over as Shin enters.]
You may. Is something on your mind...?

Then again... Even if he is technically one of Gray's "angels," Shin can't help but feel like an outsider... Especially since that incident he refuses to talk about. ]
A few things, really.
[ He starts off with an excuse. ] Now, I am truly grateful you have allowed me in and given me a place to practice my art, [ He earnestly admits that much, especially after what felt like ages of being unable to do so ] But I can't help but be curious about the theme that ties us all together... Sinners, sacrifices, angels... Tell me, what inspired you to make this project a reality?
For kristened. Murdergame AU.
He didn't expect them to use a curse for a motive this week.
Everyone's curse was uniquely tailored to their worst fears, and Shin was no different. He cried out as his own curse took hold, wincing in pain as dark webbed fins burst out from his elbows. The all too familiar hunger kicked in about an hour later. He bitterly cursed the hosts for forcing him to relive that horrible nightmare, but there was nothing anyone could do about it. The only way to cure everyone was for someone to kill.
Shin took as many potted plants as he could carry and locked himself in his room. He refused to get near anyone else, not even for the weekly meeting. He even went as far as to leave a note on the door warning everyone not to let him out until Friday, no matter what happens...
This is absurd. A cold blooded killer who was afraid to lose control? That fear felt more justified as the week dragged on; By Tuesday night, the skin on his arms had turned black. By Wednesday night, his nails and teeth sharpened into claws and fangs. This morning he became painfully sensitive to the light, and he swore he saw his pupils glow an eerie shade of blue when he looked at his reflection in the mirror. A sense of dread welled up inside as his humanity was stripped away, bit by bit. It was only a matter of time before--
No, Shin still had his wits about him. He thinks. He can't be entirely sure. He can only bring himself to pace about the darkened room like a beast in a cage. The plants are keeping him sated, but how much longer can he last? Someone must be plotting to murder by now... Right? ]
flies in a million years later in a jet of flames
This whole affair was entirely utterly ludicrous in so many ways. Erika Miyashiro Wagner neither had the desire no time to be swept up in this imbecilic play at power she was trapped in. Once was bad enough, but twice—she wasn't naive enough to think the universe held only a handful of megalomaniacs, but this was pushing the envelope in being almost a carbon copy of what that woman had foisted upon her own world. She wasn't a woman (girl) of needless complaint though, as unhappy as she was being part of the conglomerate of other trapped souls here.
Or more accurately "souls" given one specific co-captive. Aside from a fiery glare, Wagner had not deemed it necessary to interact with Shin up until this moment. Revealing that they knew each other prior to this game was problematic for several reasons, one of which was that she was writing a loophole in letting him live even here. Non-contact was a course she was committed to staying until the effects of this week were announced. A curse which of course would manifest as Zero-state for Shin, she had guessed as much before she saw him seclude himself away from the group as a whole. (For herself the curse was simple yet effective, losing her powers and becoming a "normal" girl, retired not on the battlefield but because her blade had dulled.)
Even still, she was not about to leave him alone. The click-clack of her heels might sound familiar, even without the cursory roars of fire to accompany her. She can still announce her presence at least, because a Wagner does not knock like a commoner. ]
Shin, reveal yourself!
Someone get the fire extinguisher.
[ She can hear a hiss of breath from the other side of the door...
Until now, their lack of interaction had been a mutual agreement. She knows of his sordid history and he still vividly remembers the moment they met. The last thing he wanted was to have a fiery young lady gunning for his head on a stake.
The tables could turn on her now. He's more than observant enough to notice her own powers had been stripped away from her. He could easily lure her in, strike her down and--
What was he thinking?! If he let himself attack her through instinct alone, the blood on his hands would be way too obvious. He had to stay alive for as long as he can...
... He walks up to the door, but doesn't open it. ]
I'm here, but I wouldn't try prying open the door if I were you.
[ He has it locked from the inside, for one. ]

Pry? Doors open before me through whatever means necessary, but none of those involve prying. I am not a mere thief, or has the curse addled your head that swiftly?
no subject
[ Does she think of him as nothing more than a beast? Not shocking, but he resents her opinion all the same. ]
We have to worry about the trials too, in case you've forgotten. You kill me, you'd have to frame someone else if you don't wish to be executed.
... Likewise if I'm compelled to attack you. I'm not risking that possibility tonight.
no subject
And you insult me, if I aimed for your head it would have long ago been separated from your shoulders.
no subject
[ He hasn't forgotten how she almost killed him on the spot, ya know... Especially after the outcome. ]
... If you're not here to kill me, then what do you want?
no subject
[ Shin can take that as he wishes, but given how clear her words usually are, the last sentence is tacked on and clipped. It's easy to say too much under circumstances like these. ]
no subject
Like how it was in the Twilight, more or less?
no subject
I shan't repeat myself.
no subject
[ There's a moment of awkward silence from his side of the door. ]
... If this is like those other motives... We should be back to normal by the morning.
[ He doesn't sound so sure about that. ]
