I am a science fiction fan and more specifically, a science fiction convention fan. I have been in SF fandom since Contrivance (the British National Science Fiction Convention or Eastercon) in 1989. I think that means I have attend 17 of the last 18 Eastercons (and counting).

I was on the committee for Helicon (1) in 1993, working on Programme and Publications. As well has being the Programme Deputy for Helicon 2, I have also worked on most Eastercons and Worldcons since 1994 in the Ops room, doing everything from shift leader to gophering. I also organise (as much as any rabble of fans can be organised) the Reading (Berkshire) SF Group.

For my sins, I am now on the committee to run the 2008 Eastercon, Orbital 2008, as Deputy Chair and Publications.
