the first two albums of TF music are up, the 1986 Movie Soundtrack and the 2007 movie score. They both can be found on http://www.transfancentral.com/media/index1.html or http://www.transfancentral.com/media/music/albums/index1.html
The first link is for the media section in general. The second is for the music albums. The links for everything work, but the pages they point to (except the two albums mentioned) aren't up yet. Just an FYI. I'll get started on the 2007 movie soundtrack pages first thing monday morning. I usually try to take Sunday off so I don't get overwhelmed working on the site all day every day.

I just wanted to post a quick update. More later.

I apologise, that last entry was supposed to be postdated for the 11th of December. That was when it was written, but I couldn't get it posted due to troubles with livejournal.

As for tonight, I've gotten the 1986 movie pages done and ready for upload, I have the main media index and music indexes done, and I went ahead and activated the links for all the media sections so I wouldn't have to go back and do that once the sections are done.

The html version of the pages are almost identical to the original frames-based versions in that they all have the left-side media index with all the different media sections listed.

They do not use frames, so there should be no troubles in getting them to work. There was also a problem with the media and music subdomains, so I've reprogrammed all the new pages to simply use the site's main address. There should be no further problems from that now.

Right now, I'm working on the pages for the 2007 movie soundtrack. I have the index page done, and the first couple of pages. I'm sorry to report it's taking longer than expected to get those pages made, though.

I'll be making a smaller version of all the pages sometime in the near future, though my biggest concern right now is just getting the large sized pages made and uploaded. They should be small enough that someone with a smaller screen (800 pixels width) should be able to see both the leftside menu and the content. The tracks list for each album is to the right of the content, so it's not blocking any content but is still accessible.

I apologise again for past problems with the site, and I will endeavor to produce the highest quality pages (and best browsing exerience) for visitors.

I also would like to make a poll on the fanfiction section, as I've noticed nobody has submitted anything to the archive. I've personally taken notice of a couple of formatting issues with it, and just wanted to know what people think. Dreamwidth doesn't have a poll creator unfortunately, though. So if you want to comment, annonymously or otherwise, I'd really appreciate the input.
thanks in advance!

more on the site soon.

Well, I've decided to redo the media section again. since people are having trouble with the frames versions of the pages, and it's just too much work to make four versions of every section, I'm just going to do html. So, I'll be redoing the media section, one section at a time, with plain html. There'll still be large and small versions, though I'm going to see about just doing one large version that'll be easy to use for people with both large and small screen sizes. It simply means the main content (and left sidebar) will bew the size of a small screen, with the possibility of a right-side menu. I'm not sure about that right-side menu, though. I'll see about that, I'm not sure yet.

Besides that, the frames-version has turned out to be too much of a headache. So I'll be going back to the html version. Also, there was a problem with media subdomains, which I think may have been the reason why some of the music pages weren't loading. So I'm ging to just use the main site domain instead of the subdomains.

I'll update when I get the layouts worked out.

More soon.

I still have to post notice on livejournal and double check the posting settings here so non-members can post, but I'm moving the comm over here. Well, I should say I'm closing the livejournal comm.

I have tried five times in two days to update the tfcentral comm on livejournal, and I can't even get it to load, nevertheless post to it. I actually had it loaded once tonight, couldn't post for some reason cause I wasn't logged in (I know it's set so non-members can post, this crap is just so livejournal though.) and then spent another hour and a half trying to refresh the page so I could log in. Yes, an hour and a half. No, I am not lying. And yes, it was the only page open. I didn't have any chat programs or downloaders going. It was the only internet connection going. I finally just now got logged in and on the third time refreshing the page, it'll hopefully finish loading.

I am sick and disgusted with the quality of livejournal's service. I'm thinking about moving everything over here. I'm done with them. I can't even read my friends page. I can barely post when I take three hours doing nothing but trying to get the comm to load, and when I hover the mouse over the posting window, my text dissapears.

I don't care how long anyone has been with livejournal, I'm leaving. LJ should be more dialup-friendly. even on highspeed at the local netcafe I have problems, though. They need to overhaul their system or something.

Anyway, I'm done. I am leaving livejournal. I don't know how I'm going to get this information posted to livejournal since I can't log into anything or get any pages over there to load. Three hours for one page is just rediculous.

And yes, I am mad over this.
(/end rant)

Site updates will be posted to dreamwidth from now on.

I posted the address cause this post will be crossposted to the livejournal tran sfancentral comm, if it ever loads.

Just thought I'd post a welcome post, and make sure the entry background is ok. sometimes the writing blends into it too much. I'm still working on the settings, so if anything is wrong, it should be fixed soon. more later!
