Hey there! I'm a happily single involved engaged married, science geek mom careening through life with 2 special needs kids + 3 step-kids (2 of which have special needs too). While the kids are the main instigators of chaos in my life, I seem to find plenty of it myself. Recently, I find myself an "introvert living the life of an extrovert on amphetamines." I have more hobbies and activities than you can shake a stick at, but this doesn't stop me from rambling on at length about any number of topics. I have an overdeveloped sense of the ridiculous and absurd, a bizarre sense of humor, the ability to laugh at myself, and an exceptionally dirty mind. I am the Madam of 'There'™. I may whine, rant, poke fun, show a wry sense of humor, be sarcastic, be pathetic, promote innuendo, or be philosophical; sometimes all in the same post.
Being of German descent with Irish mixed in, I'm stubborn with a temper. At one point in my life I dyed my hair red. When asked if I got the temperament to go with the hair, I answered, "no, I got the hair to go with the temperment." I'm also about as direct as a punch in the nose. You've been warned...

Some helpful definitions:
My Honey = love of my life (one of these days he'll get back on LJ again...)
OCP = older chaos producer, aka the teenage 20-something-year old daughter
YCP = younger chaos producer, autistic son, very amusing quotes
K, H, and G = step-daughters - 2 x 20-somethings and a teenager, respectively; I am working on coming up with better nicknames for them than that though.
Bitch Mom = the over-protective, Mama Bear aspect of my personality that advocates for my kids, typically with school officials
liquidfun = Dad to the Chaos Producers
Buster = cat that currently owns me
Tundra, Anuerin, and Jaws = former cats that owned us but had to find new homes due to the family merger and subsequent not getting along with each other. Each has found a way to their own lap of luxury.
Chaos Cube = my old house
Haven = house between Chaos Cube and the current house
??? = new house (still seeking an appropriate moniker for it)

CFT = copious free time (i.e. my snarky way of saying that I'm busy)
WDF = Weird dream fairy (I have other nicknames for her, but some of those aren't usable in polite company)

From the journal of featherynscale; I like her description so much I lifted it for my own use. capriciouslass is so, so, so not my mom. Or at least, she beats me when I call her mom, which is like the same thing. She runs a mean game of Paranoia and graciously allows me to steal soda from her fridge. She's 89% 85% 83% 80% 79.5% 79% 78% straight and falling. She's part spider monkey, part cat, and part sun-seeking plant. She is the entrusted keeper of the fattest cat on the planet, and was recently voted Most Likely to be Bene Gesserit, for her array of impressive stretching techniques. She is legally a midget, which means that we have to spend a lot of time keeping diermuid away from her. She has given up serving as a good example to lead a productive life as a horrible warning. She is also a mad scientist, and lets me have leftover serum vials when she's done with them.
