Coming out of #ChinaJoy2026 in Shanghai, the global momentum behind Chinese games is undeniable. Chinese publishers generated $20.5B overseas in 2025. In Southeast Asia, 8 of the top 15 grossing mobile games are now Chinese-published titles. As that growth continues, payments matter more. Local payment methods, strong D2C experiences and the right setup in each market can help publishers convert more players and grow more effectively overseas. Our latest piece looks at China’s Great Export and the role payments will play in what comes next. Read more: https://lnkd.in/g9kp3-AW

From back-to-back conversations at Coda Cafe to cruising the Bund with partners at Coda Connect Shanghai, #ChinaJoy2026 was all about bringing the gaming ecosystem together beyond the show floor. The conversations covered what’s next for gaming growth across payments, D2C commerce, distribution, and more, especially as publishers look to scale across markets with more speed, flexibility, and local expertise. Thanks to everyone who spent time with us, at Coda Cafe, on the cruise, and everywhere in between. Let’s keep the conversation going: https://lnkd.in/g3sr6HQd

App-to-web commerce works best when the journey feels continuous. Player identity, purchase context and brand experience all play a role in making the move to an external checkout feel connected. Getting those details right can reduce friction and help protect conversion. We take a closer look at why the redirect isn't the real challenge, and the UX decisions that have the biggest impact on conversion. Inviting every player to pay outside the app may seem like the obvious move. Poorly executed linkouts, disruptive prompts and unfamiliar purchase journeys can create friction and reduce conversion. Successful publishers take a more targeted approach, directing players to out-of-app purchases only when they're most likely to complete the journey. Our out-of-app monetization guide explores how to identify those players, why the right threshold differs by title and genre, and how smarter segmentation can improve out-of-app performance. Finance careers are evolving, and so are the skills that matter most. Last week, our Global Treasurer, Jessie Toh, joined a full house at LinkedIn Local™ - Singapore’s financial career panel: Redundant or Relevant? Finance Careers in the Age of Disruption. The conversation explored how professionals can stay ahead through every stage of their careers, from navigating role transitions and planning for retirement, to building visibility through networking, volunteering and sharing their expertise. The panel also discussed how AI is creating new opportunities for entrepreneurship, reinforcing why an entrepreneurial mindset remains a quality we value at Coda, and a valuable trait in a fast-changing world. Thank you to everyone who joined the conversation, as well the Institute of Life’s Eric Sim , and renowend career coach Dr Azhar Ahmad for sharing their insights.

Digital wallets now power 56% of global e-commerce spend, more than half of all online transactions worldwide. That shift didn't happen by accident. It happened because payment infrastructure finally started meeting people where they already are. Gaming hasn't caught up. Only 13% of mobile gamers in Southeast Asia use credit cards, yet checkout still assumes everyone has one. Publishers who fix that aren't just boosting conversion. They're becoming the financial on-ramp for players banks never bothered to reach. This World Fintech Day, we break down how gaming is quietly becoming one of the biggest forces in financial inclusion, and what it takes for publishers to get there. Today, we're sharing our latest white paper: Beyond the App Store: A Publisher's Guide to Direct Linkouts and Out-of-App Monetization, exploring how game publishers can turn linkouts into a scalable growth channel. As regulations evolve across key markets, publishers have more opportunities to guide players to out-of-app purchase experiences. But success depends on more than adding a button. The right audience, offer, and checkout experience make the difference between recovering margin and growing revenue. Drawing on our experience supporting 300+ publishers, including Activision, Electronic Arts (EA), and Riot Games, our white paper covers: • Which players are most likely to convert • When to introduce a linkout • How to create offers players genuinely value • What infrastructure is needed to operate at scale Download our white paper: https://lnkd.in/gJsrUeNp Read more: https://lnkd.in/gNYDTWZd
