Betasiel Alsine, aka Beetle
Chaotic Good Eladrin Paladin
D&D 5e

Betasiel was raised in isolation in the Feywild, confined to her family's dark castle Ravencry. She always dreamed of life outside the high, black walls and when the keep travelled to the Prime Material Plane (as it does from time to time) she dared to leave to get a peek of the outside world.

What she found was a group of loggers cutting down a dryad's grove. She drove them off, but not before it was too late for her to return home- Ravencry had already shifted planes once again, leaving her behind. Seizing the opportunity, she fled the scene and took the name Beetle, hoping that her family wouldn't find her again. Now she travels on a quest for the goddess Melora, seeking to put an end to the havoc wreaked by the mining of a magical mineral.

Beetle firmly believes in fairness, justice, compassion, and fighting duels to solve your problems. She lives for the beauty of nature and would give her life to protect it- but hopefully not before she sees everything the world has to offer.

Valiss Truthtwister
Chaotic Neutral Elven Rogue
Pathfinder

Charming, deadly with his two magical blades, and surprisingly loyal.

If you asked Valiss how he got into the adventuring business, you'd probably get an answer that could be summed up as 'I really needed to leave town for a while'. He's started to realize that sometimes you go from the frying pan into the fire and then you can't go back because they've washed the frying pan and put it away already.

Valiss is not a fan of magic (unless it's in useful item form), and he's especially not a fan of raising the dead. This is unfortunate, since he's one of two party members who's never suffered the touch of death. He's learning to adjust his views, but after a trying period spent in a city controlled by devils and Hextorians, most of his previous issues are on hold until he deals with the effects of the trauma he picked up there, like his tendency to laugh in the face of danger and not stop. Really. It's freaking out his party members.

Cassiel da Lucra
Neutral Evil Aasimar Cleric
Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition

Definitely a cleric of Vecna Wee Jas. Definitely bad news a good guy.

Cassiel's story has just started, but here's what we know so far: originally an acolyte of Wee Jas, he was corrupted by Vecna during a religious retreat and began serving his new master in secret. That service led him to Sigil, the City of Doors, which Vecna had tried to conquer once before. His master has set him to uncover the truth of the death of the Demon Prince Orcus, apparently slain in battle with a Drow goddess, and determine if it's part of some greater plan. To do so, he has allied himself with the Dustmen and formed a cadre of companions- none of whom are aware of his true purpose.

He's a pretty chill dude, honestly. Nothing to worry about here, move along.

Dominic Kincaid
True Neutral Human Inquisitor
Pathfinder

A paper pusher by day and covert operative by night. Some nights, anyways. Other nights he's busy living it up.

Lucinda Graves
Chaotic Neutral Human Rogue
Pathfinder

Mostly an unknown quantity, but does seem unafraid to wander through mysterious wintry portals to find her missing sister, Gladys. Also, she likes knives.

William 'Wimby' Way Doats, aka Blackjack
Chaotic Neutral/Chaotic Good Vigilante
Pathfinder

The latest successor to the mantle of the famous Korvosan vigilante, Wimby took the name to protect the neglected people of Old Korvosa and punish their oppressors.

Completed Campaigns

Maisie Doats
Chaotic Good Human Rogue
Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition

The black sheep of a family of criminals and murderers.

Maisie wasn't too concerned with anything besides getting some time away from her family when she joined dwarven merchant Durgen Goldhand's last autumn caravan to the city of Northhold. Durgen promised a relaxing season of hot springs, money, hot chocolate, and- best of all- no contact from the southern cities, due to the snow.

Instead, Maisie found Northhold in danger from a threat a city mouse like her had never even dreamed of: dark forces attempted to wake an evil demigod that slumbered beneath a cloven mountain. Allied with a group of the other caravan guards, she fought through orcs, giants, assassins, and demons to stop this disaster. In the end, Maisie struck the angel that had orchestrated everything the killing blow with her magical rapier, North Star, and found herself in the strange position of being a hero.

Armed with greater self-confidence and a boon from a goddess, Maisie returned to her home city of Cardinal, planning to re-open her shop (Maisie's Amazing Locks & Security) and see if any other adventures turned up.

Maya Gale
Daughter of Poseidon
Goddess of Hurricanes

Scion

Ten pounds of crazy in a five pound bag.

Maya was an aspiring Olympic swimmer when her father visited her and informed her that she was part-divine and needed to do things for him. Armed with the sword he gave her- a brass blade named Sifonos, a remnant of a shipwreck that had been lost to Charybdis- she and her companions cut a swathe through the Titans.

The approval that she hoped Poseidon would give her always eluded her, pushing her further and further into glory-seeking and desperation. The collateral damage grew almost as quickly as the list of enemies that met their ends at the hands of her and her party. Vast portions of the globe- the Mediterranean, Eastern Canada, Northern Europe, Australia, large chunks of the United States- were rendered uninhabitable by their battles.

Driven to rage by Poseidon's continued contempt, Maya made a bargain with one of her enemies. Sifonos was imbued with the power to cut the bonds of Fate and she declared war on her father, disowning him retroactively. Not only was he not her father anymore, he never had been. This launched a fight that ended with Poseidon dead and England, France, and Germany drowned along with him.

She wasn't done there. They still had a Titan- Prometheus, who stole flame from the gods and gave it to humanity- to defeat. In a battle that scorched Texas with nuclear fire, he was defeated, but his gift to humanity was lost as well: never again would they grasp the creativity they had known up until now. Their drive and initiative would fade like the ashes of a dead bonfire.

As for Maya, she and her last remaining companion- the God of Last Stands- became the hands of Fate, puppets of a force beyond even their power.
