Wikimania 2009: Scholarships

English: Wikimania 2009, this year's global event devoted to Wikimedia projects around the globe, is now accepting applications for scholarships to the conference. This year's conference will be handled from August 26-28 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The scholarship can be used to help offset the costs of travel and registration. Hello! I try to register on Serbian Wikipedia but whenever I type the phrase from the window it always tell me that I typed it wrong and it gives me new word and same thign all over... Photographer M. Jovanović in Beograd (1889)

Hi! I have noticed some portraits of famous Serbian personalities (mainly Jovan Belimarković and en:Kosta Taušanović) in a scanned Czech magazine, published 05.04.1889. They are captioned as "from the studio of M. Jovanović in Beograd". Could anyone please check when Mr. M. Jovanović died, to verify if (or when) we can upload & use them? I assume that M. Jovanović is probably Milan Jovanović, brother of Paja Jovanović, who died on 17 March 1944.In the last decades of XIX century, he made portraits of famous Serbian personalities (some of them are listed here). Црни Бомбардер!!! (†) 01:07, 24. август 2009. (CEST)

Transcription of citynames

Hi! I am Perolinka from Swedish wikipedia. I wonder if it would be possible for someone here that understand serbian language to make a transcription of all names in the template of towns in Cetinje. I would really appreciate that, and it would make a big favour. You could write the transcripted names here.

And where exactly is the list of names in Serbian that you want to transcribe? And into what language, English or Swedish? I could not find the page with deletion reason text. However, there is a large number of images available for that monastery at Commons: [1]. Fundraising time is around the corner!

Hello Wikimedians, my name is Sam and I am working for the Wikimedia Foundation during the 2010 Fundraiser. My job is to be the liaison between the Serbian (Српски/Srpski) community and the Foundation. This year's fundraiser is intended to be a collaborative and global effort, we recognize that banner messages that perform well in the United States don't necessarily translate well, or appeal to international audiences.

I'm contacting you as I am currently looking for translators who are willing to contribute to this project, helping to translate and localize messages into Српски/Srpski and suggesting messages that would appeal to Српски/Srpski readers on the Fundraising Meta Page. We've started the setup on meta for both banner submission, statistical analysis, and grouping volunteers together.
Use the talk pages on meta, talk to your local communities, talk to others, talk to us, and add your feedback to the proposed messages as well! I look forward to working with you during this year's fundraiser.

Fundraiser 2010! Help Us Beat JIMMY!

The Fundraising Committee is issuing all interested community members a challenge: we want you to beat Jimmy. The appeal from Jimmy Wales and the corresponding banner have been tested head-to-head with other successful banners, and the results are clear: it's our best performing message... by a lot. This year we have a lofty fundraising goal; we need all of our banners to bring in donations like the Jimmy Appeal, but no one wants to keep the Jimmy banner up for two months. We want to run donor quotes, and other wonderful ideas, but we have to have banners that work as well as or better than the Jimmy appeal.

We've just released the highlights from a donor focus group, and the results of our donor survey. With one month to the launch of the fundraiser, the messages we test must be driven by data from our tests and surveys - we can no longer rely on instinct alone.

We've redesigned our fundraising meta pages with the Jimmy challenge; check out the survey results and propose/discuss banners that reflect these findings. To answer your question, I think the best way to do it would be Fundraising 2010/sr and then a redirect to that from translated title, so the translation would be on Fundraising 2010/sr and the <translate title> would redirect to fundraising 2010/sr. Fundraiser Update

Greetings Wikimedians! Sorry for the English, anyone who is able to translate is welcome (and encouraged). The 2010 Fundraiser is live and has greatly benefited from all the contributions from our translators. Browsing the pages in Latin script

Hi. Transliterators are used on several wikipedias and on Serbian Wikipedia, but I realized that in order to see consecutive pages in Latin script we need to log out and browse the Latin pages as an IP. Hello!

I made improved logo for Macedonian Wiki which includes some rare characters (special д and п) in tagline "Слободна енциклопедиjа", and I wonder if this tagline shall be the same in Serbian language?
