Hello from a recovering creative!

I was once a romance writer. Nothing published, but I wrote a lot and generated a lot of ideas for so many stories and had a lot of fun. I made the "mistake" -- it's a mistake depending on my mood -- back in 2014 of returning to college to finally finish my degree. I mean, it made sense. I was stuck in a dead end job as an office temp, doing nothing but data entry.

Fast forward six years later: I graduated in 2019 with a degree that recently landed me a job that pays $16/hour (I am not bragging), and I have writer's drought to the point that I hate writing, and that if I never wrote again? I'd be fine with it. (Which is a lie. Because I'm not writing. At all. And I'm pretty miserable. I literally can not function like this much longer.)

I'm working through The Artist's Way off and on. Sometimes with a group online; sometimes by myself. Since morning pages are a crucial element... I figured I should dust off this journal and use it. (Yes, I know that Julia Cameron strongly suggests doing morning pages by hand, but right now? My brain freezes at the sight of a notebook.)

It's my hope that this journal can be a safe space of sorts as I work to regain my creativity. Expect a lot of word spew. There'll probably be a lot of whining and bitching and first world problem woes. But I also hope I can start eventually playing around with story ideas and drabbles here like how I used to do over on LiveJournal.

Since morning pages tend to bring up issues... I'll try and be aware of issues that may be sensitive to those on my friends list. If I get into questionable topics, I'll be sure to mark those entries private.

Thank you so much for coming along on my journey! Even if you never comment, I do appreciate you being on my friends list and letting me be on yours. :)
