Yesterday, I wrote about my neck pain. Well, by about 8 or 9 last night? Most of the pain was gone...and by the time I went to bed around midnight? It was pretty much all gone--I had a few twinges (and still did today) when I moved in a certain way, or stretched in a certain direction... Man, if I'd known all it took was posting about it on my LJ? I'd've done it a couple days earlier.

I have started working on the school yearbook...and this year? School Photo Guy didn't do group class pics, he did composites. *sob* So guess what I have to do? Make composites. *death glowers SPG* I'm going to do the pics in tables--but I'm not sure if I should put the kids' names in a cell under their picture, or do the Top/Middle/Bottom Row, L-R thing underneath the table with the pics in it. Hmm. Maybe I'll do a mock up each way and then print it out at work tomorrow and get J's (my yearbook co-hort) opinion. I can still get all the pics put into the tables--it's not much work to add the extra row for names...

And I'm not sure what to do with the Grade 5s--normally, we do the individual pics with their "yearbook info" beside it (similar to HS ybooks) in black and white, and then put the class group pics on another page and do that page in colour. I guess I'll have to talk to J about that one. I suppose we could take the group shots ourselves but I have a feeling it wouldn't turn out as well as what the photog does. *gah*

Anyhow, I'm looking very techy tonight--I'm doing the yearbook stuff on the sign out (aka MY) laptop from work and it's on my comp desk...and I'm writing this on my desktop. *heh*

God, I just lurve yearbook time. Not.

OMG! YAY! The damned yearbook is thisclose to being done. Honestly. *G* There is still a short list of things to be done--a few pics that need to be inserted and one monthly photo page left (the second one for June) and the artwork pages for June--those things will probably take longest but I should be able to get it all done Monday morning. I would've gotten a few more things done but I always forget that my home computer does NOT have a 3.5" floppy drive--sis' laptop is even newer than my desktop, so no floppy there either. It's not urgent, though, I can finish it up Monday. (We still use the 3.5" diskettes at work because we still have sony mavica cameras that take them--impossible to wean some of the teachers off of those.)

Anyhow, once I get it all finished, I'll print out a shiny new copy. Today I do go through and do a very rough piecing together of the dummy copy. We added a new title page, which would've put the way the class photo pages went, so I managed to get the staff pics so they fit on one page. Go, me!!

I've gone through and organised the files so that they are in order for how they should be printed--in folders for each section. But yes, organised. *G* I saved the files on my home comp--but have also put a copy of the main folder on one of my flash drives, burned it to cd, zipped it and emailed it to myself at work. *G* Just in case I forget stuff at home. Plus, it never hurts to have more than one backup, especially with this much work. When I go in Monday, it's gonna be popped up on the server, too, and I'm cleaning up all the yearbook folders we've got going right now. *sigh*

I can't quite do the "I'm done" dance but I can do the "Damn close to done" dance. *G*

I'm as done the damned yearbook as I can be at this point in time. As I said earlier, just a handful of pages left to be done next week and then it's off to the printers. Must remind J of last year's "Oh, they don't need to see a proof copy" fiasco on the printers' part. They printed all the copies WITHOUT letting us proof it because oh, "there's nothing wrong with it." Bloody losers printed one page twice, missing out on an artwork page for one of the classes--they offered to print it off on sticky paper for that class, but J had already photocopied it for them. Instead, we asked for a discount and got one. So, yeah, I'll remind her. *G*

Once it's off to the printers, I don't have to worry about it again until the published copies come in. I've looked after distributing it the last two years; I'm sure J won't object if I do so again this year.

Took an hour longer than I planned but that's cus I laid down for a few minutes...and it ended up being about an hour. *G*

Yay.

YES!! *does happy dance* OMG!YAY!

The computer related work is done on the Yearbook with the exception of 3 pages: the principal's msg (which is sitting as an attachment on my email at school) and one page for the anti-smoking group (which the EA who runs it gave me the page already done on a diskette. Of course, I forget that I no longer have a diskette drive at home. If I do YB next year, everything like that is gonna have to be submitted on CD. Deal with it peoples.), and one page that will have a picture of the broadcast team and of the kids who took pics for YB. Have to add a few pics of grade 5s who didn't get their school pics done, and pics to the bottom of the grad pages but that'll take me less than 1/2 an hour at work, once I have everything.

I'm going to spend this afternoon proofing all the stuff I have printed out...and then, tomorrow, I'll pass it on to J. who is the teacher I'm doing yb with. She's a good proofreader.

I actually managed to sneak in some fic writing time last night...I'm working on another CM [livejournal.com profile] wtf27 story that I think I might actual be able to wrangle into one of the [livejournal.com profile] psych_30 prompts too. I'll have to see how it goes.

Yes, today is a GOOD day.

Must go play some games and then have lunch. After lunch, it's off to proofread the YB and then I'll read the fic book I picked up at the library yesterday. It's a horror novel...see if it's any good.
