I'm here from the previous challenge! It is a bit of a difference to see how much lighter this one seems to be (not that I mind), so I'm interested to see what you'll come up with for it.

What might be the most lasting contribution is having gone through the entirety of the currently-available Dragonriders of Pern series

Your deconstruction of Pern is what led me to you in the first place, actually! When I was doing cleanup work for the archival project I mentioned earlier, I saw a reference to a commentary series on Pern in this entry (comment [2A1A1A]), so I looked it up and found the Slacktiverse, though I was then under the impression that you'd finished your work for good. A few months later, I returned and stuck around, and soon I found you on Dreamwidth.

That personal history aside, I agree that it probably is the work of yours that has had the most impact (and which continues to get comments, I have seen)... though I'd say that the deconstructions of Pastwatch and the works of Tamora Pierce are also quite important, because it's less likely that anyone has written something of that scale for them at all.

The most common complaint you'll hear about Dreamwidth is that the lack of discovery features makes it hard to find your people, even as the lack of discovery features and the ads that accompany them is also the biggest benefit to using Dreamwidth.

It also helps to make sure that you only find the people you want to find, which makes drama less likely to occur. Incidentally, I wonder if some of the trouble in finding your people is because there aren't that many people active compared to other websites (34330, according to the statistics page, and thus "your people" might not actually be on this website...

(If it isn't clear by now, I also tend to go off on diversions and tangents while I'm telling stories. I think they're relevant, at least as context and flavor, even if they don't appear to be at first glance. Follow along, or not, as you like.)

I am much the same, though I haven't exactly shown it in my comments here.
