The storm is calling, but I don't mind

It has somehow been an actual decade (or nearly as good as) since I last dabbled with vidding despite all my best intentions to get back to it sooner. I am officially both astounded and feeling unexpectedly old, haha. But I dug into the first exercise at vexercises this weekend in a casual, fun-not-perfectionism, oh wait I need to learn whole new software now oh god, sort of way and really enjoyed it. If anybody has pondered getting (back) into vidding lately as well, I highly recommend going and taking a look at the current round! It has a challenge-but-flexible feel to it that reminds me of inkingitout and WED.

(Somewhat related question for passing vidders: where do people even crosspost vids anymore? Is AO3 a thing worth doing?)

Notes: episode 3x05 Hero II: Broken Arrow explored first with a Kate POV, and then from the (telepathic superpowered bee swarm that just wants to be helpful and make friends even though it might accidentally kill you!) suit’s. I love this ridiculous episode so much. Each pair is meant to work as two versions of a similarly themed vidlet, one with a lighter tone and one heavier.

such_heights has a great post on Doctor Who fandom and hating women/female companions, which, just, it needs to be compulsory reading if you want to talk to me about Who. I'm rapidly turning into that hyped up cat that pounces on everything here, seriously. Where's all the love going?

I've also done a dramatic restructuring of my tags list to take better advantage of the DW hierarchical tag feature. There is no way in hell I'm redoing all that work on LJ, so things may break or not be grouped entirely over there. Some DW tags may break if you happened to be keeping track of anything by them too, but you should be able to find the new version pretty easily, and all my old posts applicable to that tag will still be under them.

I've got like, a thousand fics to write, and a vid to work on*, but I think I've finally wrangled my tabs and inbox into some semblance of order. If I've missed you somewhere, let me know! Also between the various deadlines, my semester wrapping up this week, and leaving next week to spend half a week or so with my godparents, don't be surprised if I'm very absent over the next little while.

*We're talking very early stages here, but if anyone wants to cheerlead me dipping my toes here, or direct me to someone likely to do so, please do sing out!
