It's still snowing and blowing out there! I was awakened at 5:30 by the sound of howling wind, which reminded me of my sworn morning duty -- shoveling paths for Pippin out back so she doesn't sink up to her ears in the snow. After pulling on waterproof pants, boots, parka, hat, and scarf over my pajamas, and finding my mittens, I tentatively pushed on the back door hoping it would open. Although heavy snow had drifted against the door, I was able to open it just enough to slither outside with the shovel. I've been out twice more as the snow fills in my lovely paths, which thankfully Pippin is using. Once the snow finally stops I need to clear off the front steps, driveway, and car, since the temps will be plummeting to 6F/-14C tonight and everything will freeze solid.
