That was a scary night!
May. 30th, 2019 06:40 am"Tornado warning in your area. Take shelter now."
I'd never seen *that* on my phone before! Yesterday we got slammed with torrential rains, lightning, thunder, hail, and wind, but thankfully no tornado touched down near us. I'd never seen the folks on the Weather Channel pointing to my specific town before, and in such ominous tones. As the sky darkened and the hail started pounding down, I made a lot of trips down to our wee basement with important stuff in case we had to go there, then Shiremom and I spent hours keeping track of the storm on TV and trying to comfort Pippin, who was very very scared. So was I, but I couldn't let Shiremom know that. I don't think I've ever seen or heard it rain so hard, for so many hours.
I need to go outside soon to check for damage or flooding, and make a few more preparations... because another big storm will be hitting us today and into the night, and it's predicted to be just as severe.
Thank goodness we didn't lose power, and THANK GOODNESS I got the roof replaced in January. There's no way the old roof could have kept so much rain from pouring into the house, as it was leaky enough in regular rain.
Whew! I hope everyone who was in the storm area last night is okay.
