I started making jewelry in 2008, because I wanted a hobby I could do with my hands. Previously all my hobbies have been computer-based: writing, graphics, websites. I wasn't even wearing jewelry at the time, but I stopped by a local jewelry supply and scrapbooking store one day, and they showed me a few things, like how to make a simple loop, and how to use a crimp bead to finish the end of a necklace. This was something I felt like I could do! That didn't use a keyboard! So I bought a bunch of pieces and started experimenting.

In the year and a half or so since I started, I've improved a lot. And I keep thinking, maybe I should start blogging about this. I enjoy doing it, and I enjoy writing, why wouldn't I enjoy writing about doing it?

So this is going to be my attempt. We'll see how this goes.
