Silas Botwin
No one thought Nancy Botwin's eldest son Silas would grow up to be the green thumb in the family. He surprised everyone when he joined his mom's business — against her wishes, of course — and proved to be her most valuable asset. The budding young entrepreneur recently teamed up with Doug on a growing new venture in medicinal marijuana. But following in mom's footsteps may prove to be more than he can deal with.

Silas, was traumatized by his father, Judah's, death, and takes it out on his mother and brother. Silas is impetuous and impulsive, and although always operating as though he knows everything, is extremely naïve. He is the stereotypical teenage male, eager to participate in sports and sex, and having trouble with school work. He has numerous bad break-ups with girlfriends and constantly harasses Nancy about her job. Eventually he decides that he too wants to be a drug dealer. He goes into business with Doug, opening a medicinal marijuana dispensary, but his growing business savvy is thwarted by Doug's abusive bargaining tactics.

This version of Silas is only written up to the end of the second last episode of the Weeds series. I have him just before he reunites with Megan in the second last episode because I like to keep my RP options open with him as to shipping. I also don't want to deal with that huge time jump in the last ever episode. All the rest of his canon stands.

Silas arrived on the island during Weeds episode 6x11 "Viking Pride" after he discovered his dead father isn't his real dad. He met up with his biological father, Lars Guinard, who turned out to be the spitting image of Silas. He's was 20 when he arrived and is now 25. He is a weed dealer on the island but also has a part time job as a bar tender at Hors de Prix.

His five items are:
1) a healthy supply of weed
2) his father's lighter
3) a picture of him and his family
4) a laptop workable on the island
5) a bag of books including one on sign language, one on cultivating marijuana, and one on sexual positions.
